Wolfpack pushes past Hall

More than likely, the Pirates did not envision their non-conference schedule being so difficult to navigate.

A 67-57 loss to North Carolina State in Raleigh on Monday night dropped the team to 8-5 with the nation's best team - Connecticut - coming to Newark for a 2 p.m. tipoff at Prudential Center on Saturday.

It capped an out-of-league slate of games that saw Seton Hall struggle to defeat St. Peter's and UC Davis at home while getting blown out at Colorado and dropping close games at Rider and vs. Morgan State.

In the defeat to the Wolfpack, senior Nicole Emery netted 19 points and sophomore Kandice Green earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Still, the Hall was put away in large part due to issues that have plagued the team's first two months of competition - turnovers and an inconsistent offense.

Zero points came off the bench from the Pirates, while NC State saw its reserves score 17. Meanwhile, Seton Hall turned over the basketball 19 times through the contest.

Guard Bonay Holston led all scorers with 20 points on 9-15 shooting for the host school.
