The Pirates lost big to Colorado 80-54 on Sunday but won a close game against New Hampshire on Thursday night at home, 54-45.
On Sunday, Colorado won their fourth straight game of the season, due in large part to their strong all around game.
The Buffaloes shot 53 percent from the field and went 11-21 from beyond the arc.
On the other hand, the Hall shot 4-16 from three-point range.
Colorado also had 39 rebounds.
"We beat them by 35, so they are going to come after us," head coach Phyllis Mangina said before the game about last year's matchup. "They should be fired up."
Early on, the Pirates fell behind 10-4.
They were able to go on a run to tie the game with just under 14 minutes left.
However, Colorado answered with an 8-0 run of their own.
Junior Brittany Spears had five of her game-leading 24 points during that run.
A three pointer from Colorado's Bianca Smith put the Buffaloes up with 11 minutes remaining, but a quick seven points for the Hall cut the deficit back to two.
Once again, the Buffaloes were able to heat up just as the Pirates were coming close to taking the lead.
This time, a 9-2 run helped Colorado extend their lead to 30-21 with just under four minutes to go in the first half.
Back and forth play ensued as the Hall went into the second half trailing 39-30.
The Pirates came out flat in the second half, giving up 10 points in under two minutes.
All of the points were scored by Alyssa Fressle, as the Hall fell even further behind, 53-32.
Lack of defense and poor shooting on the Pirates' part for most of the second half led to them trying to catch Colorado for the rest of the game.
They shot under 33 percent in the second half, compared to the Buffaloes' 51 percent.
The Hall had a late 15-2 surge while running a full court press.
However, the run was not enough as they eventually lost.
Against New Hampshire, the Pirates also fell behind quickly 14-9.
The Hall was able to put together a 12-2 run behind three pointers by sophomore Kandice Green, who ended the game with 16 points, and freshman Terry Green.
"Aggressive, great offensive put backs were key for Kandice," junior guard Ebonie Williams said. "She has the ability to score like that."
The twelve point surge put the Pirates up 21-16.
Eventually, the Wildcats tied the game up with six minutes left in the half.
The Hall had a 23-21 lead going into the second half.
"I didn't think Kandice played that well early, but the bench helped us out," Mangina said.
The Pirates and Wildcats played evenly for the first 10 minutes of the second half.
New Hampshire was able to fight back and tie the game at 37.
Williams hit a three pointer, three of her 13 points on the night, to give the Hall a small lead.
Williams struck again minutes later to stretch the lead to 46-40.
New Hampshire went on a late run in the last minute of the game led by Jill McDonald to make it a 48-45 game.
McDonald finished with a game high 17 points.
Senior Letitia Curry answered with an off-balance shot in the key with half a minute remaining.
Green added four free throws down the stretch for the Pirates to give them the 54-45 win.
The Hall returns to action on Saturday when they will play Delaware State in Walsh Gymnasium.
