The Pirates won their second game of the year on Sunday, when they beat Monmouth University 87-72.
This is the Pirates 11th straight win over their in-state opponent. The Pirates have never lost a game to Monmouth, a series that began in 1983.
Junior Jeremy Hazell came back from a tough game on Friday, where he scored only two points, with a 26 point effort.
Junior Herb Pope had an all-around great game.
He finished 15 points and 17 rebounds, his first double-double as a Pirate.
Junior Jamel Jackson was strong from three point range, converting on four of his seven attempts.
Freshman Ferrakohn Hall also saw significant minutes. He played 21 minutes, while shooting 75 percent from the floor and scoring eight points.
For Monmouth, Travis Taylor had a team high 19 points in the loss.
Rebounding was not a negative factor in this game. Seton Hall out rebounded the Hawks 40-33, with Pope accounting for almost half of the team's total.
Turnovers caused for a bit of concern in the game, as the Pirates turned the ball over 14 times.
Seton Hall returns to action on Friday night as they go on the road to face the two-time defending Ivy League champion Cornell Big Red. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
